Hey everyone, just an update to let you know why there's been a lack of updates lately, that's because I'm currently working on a whole new website! It is based on the content management system created by Joomla which has so many ingenious advantages over a pure html page. It will contain regular daily/weekly updates with our members being able to post their own blogs on the FrontPage, for example Glazer has already put forward having his own setup advice section which will also have a download area, whole new galleries, simplified layout and maybe a video upload section for respected LFS members (still thinking on this idea).

I've been on a break this past week for Easter, I travelled to a place called Lynton in North Devon with my best mate, to those of you who have me on facebook, I've uploaded a couple photo's from the photography I planned to do there.

 

Important update

• The steering lock server has been cancelled due to little or no use, and upon request by many, it's been reverted back to a private pass worded server for the default lfs.exe" It is for www.lfsdrift.net community members only and has been renamed to "Falken Drift Server 2 PVT"

Also a congrats to Gittin Jr. for winning the opening round of formula D which I had missed due to being away. >_<

It gives me great pride to pronounce Falken as the 2009 EDC Champions! An amazing job by .dot and Grandpa secured our place at the top spot throughout pretty much the whole season! What I'm so suprised by is the consistency of their winning streaks, take a look at how straight that line is on the graph below (made by Crabster) and also a quote from the organisers over at EDC..

The prize for winning the championship is a server hosted by 500servers, which is what our current one is being hosted by. We will use this large capacity server for various activites, fun racing sessions like we used to, private sessions and other things we haven't actually decided on yet. ^_^

I bring some team news (14th Dec) Our good buddy annd teammate Aerox is to retire from lfs drifting to focus solely on racing which he said he is enjoying more, mainly in the ITCC league (http://www.itcc.iconracing.co.uk/) Which he's been practicing these past few weeks for, it's a sad time but we wish him good luck in the championship and we shall keep the many memories he's created in the team for the past 3 years or so! 

Also a big thanks to everyone who wished me a happy 21st Birthday, it was an amazing birthday!

As our server has now been private and under quite a high percentage of use for some time now, such as this evening it was full even when set to private, everyone was having fun and enjoying themselves, we've decided the insim is no longer needed than when the server was public, BUT we are going to be TOUGHER on poorly behaved players who wreck the fun quite simply with perma-bans from now on.

Our server is now private for drift community members only, the decision was taken due to un-respectful and unknown players still ruining the fun even after the new server system was installed due to it's overwhelming popularity, still breaking rules when after they connect they agree to accept them via the lapper screen.

Players who constantly ignored the language rules has also prompted this change and most of the highly respected players are who you'll find in the drift communities, I'm not saying which community as it's for obvious reasons.

So if you enjoyed our server before, you'll now enjoy it far better without unknown players going the wrong way, ramming, speaking a different language other than English, but still by having a large growing community filled server.

European Drift Championship

With a Nsys scoring a 100points in round 5 they are now on 3th position pushing both Tein and Driftworks a possition down the list at 4th and 5th place. Dem Motorsports is still infront of them at 2th place with only 10 points more. So it will still be a hard batlle between both Tein, Nsys and Driftworks or (who knows) are the Suncity Sliders in for a suprise. Its gonna be one hell of a last round. "

Server update news

Our drift server now has insim lapper (without drift points) this is an addon which allows admins custom automatic control over their servers, and we've taken advantage of this tool.

 

Speeding in the pitlane

If you speed in the pitlane, you'll first get a warning message after you receive the 30 second penalty sign, if you do not slow down straight away, and continue to accelerate, you'll be kicked from the server after you receive the "stop and go" penatly. It's quite self explanitory why this has been introduced... to stop players being distracted by the penalty signs caused by other players ignoring the speeding rules and to reduce minor lag.

 

Flooding in the chat

If you spam more than 4 lines in the chat, you'll be kicked.

 

Bad language

Our server has been designed on a respect to repect player basis, use of curse words and being abusive to other players on the server is not tolerated. Lapper can detect the use of such language and can spec/kick if detected too much on a player.

Auto spectate for being Idle

If you've been idle/afk for a while you will automatically be spectated to avoid causing crashes, parking on the drifting line etc.

 

The old rules still apply to the server

• English language ONLY please
• No wrong way driving
• No ramming/immature behaviour
• Use mirrors/map to check for traffic before merging onto the track from pits!
